



BALLAJURA CITY IGA FITOUT
The Ballajura City IGA project involved the complete internal refurbishment and fit-out of an existing supermarket within the Ballajura City Shopping Centre. The works included significant upgrades to food preparation, storage, and retail areas to meet current health, safety, and IGA national design standards.
Vizi Design provided full architectural documentation for building approval and construction, coordinating closely with refrigeration, mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical consultants to ensure seamless integration of all services.
Scope of Works

Reconfiguration of existing in-ground services and floor drainage to suit new refrigeration layouts and tundish positions

Construction of new light steel framed walls to create dedicated storage zones

Installation of new suspended bulkheads over the produce, cheese, and juice bar areas

Expansion and refurbishment of the existing deli and bakery, including new equipment layouts

Upgrade of staff amenities and back-of-house facilities

Design of a new mechanical plant room to refrigeration contractor specifications

Finishes and detailing compliant with NCC, Australian Standards, and national food codes
Design Outcome
The result is a modern, functional supermarket environment that enhances customer experience while improving operational efficiency. By retaining and upgrading much of the existing structure, the project delivered a cost-effective transformation with minimal disruption to ongoing business operations.
